AUGMENTED REALITY – CAMPAIGN PROCESS

Basically, building an augmented reality application is the combination of two main
technologies:
1. Tracking a moving target (the support of augmented reality)
2. Rendering the 2D/3D objects in the real time video stream

Phase 1: Campaign basement
Work with the client to develop the augmented reality scenario:
Scope out the project, document key dates/timings, goals, deliverables, messaging, etc
Develop scenario(s) storyboards
Confirm scenario(s)

Phase 2: Content creation
3D artist develop assets for the customized solution:
Sound effects, video files and other assets are sourced
3D content and animation are created
Validation of the content

Phase 3 : Programming
Engineers customize the solution through scripting – where the interactivity of the user experience is developed:
Scenario and game play development
Validation of final result

Phase 4: Final delivery
The final version is tested on each OS and browser
Final web integration (@home web only)

iStrategy 2010: Go where the fish goes, fish where the fish is

Last week I visited the iStrategy event in Berlin and promised you my notes from keynotes and panels taking on there. This is my coverage of the second activity of day #1 at iStrategy: a panel session that briefly goes into the upcoming Social Media developments.

This was a panel discussion, led by Nils Andres who is the CEO of a brand and media lab that brings innovation and novel thinking to brand management. The panel seats were taken by Anders Kyhlsted (co-founder of Booli, a Swedish real estate search engine), Cesar Mascaraque (MD of Ask Jeeves) and Thomas Marzano (Creative Director at Philips).
